Final Cut is excited to welcome editor Ale Dordoni to its UK team. Dordoni joins the award-winning edit house’s London roster with an impressive portfolio of commercial and narrative work and an infectious enthusiasm for the craft.
Hailing from the small town of Piacenza in Northern Italy, Dordoni realised a burgeoning interest in the art of editing while working on video projects for a degree in architecture. Dordoni emigrated to New York after graduating, where he studied film editing in-between DJ sets, eventually moving to London to pursue the craft professionally.
Dordoni established himself as a commercial editor while working in-house at London production companies Focus on Infinity and Chrome, before settling at post-production facility OkayStudio in 2022. His commercial showreel features notable projects for Mercedes, Nike, Google, Calvin Klein, Marshall, Ford and ESPN. Recent work includes Adidas’ global ‘1000 Originals Stories’ campaign, directed by Xavier Tera and starring brand ambassadors Pusha T, David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane, amongst other icons.
Other collaborators include directors Tom Dream, Matt Rendell, Samona Olanipekun and Emmanuelle Soffe. Ale recently worked with Jade Ang Jackman on the music video for Manni Dee’s ‘All Of It’ ft. Manuka Honey, which was nominated for Best Editing at the 2024 Berlin Music Video Awards and Berlin Commercial Awards.
Passionate about narrative filmmaking, Dordoni wrote, directed and edited animated short ‘Fischia Il Vento’ (The Wind Whistles) in 2021. Based on his grandfather’s memoirs from his time fighting the oppressors during WWII, the film received considerable attention on the festival circuit. More recent narrative work includes the cautionary short film “Nearly Never,” directed by Peter Franklyn Banks and premiered on Nowness.
‘Joining Final Cut and adding my name to their roster feels incredibly rewarding and I can’t wait to get started and tell more stories to be proud of.’ says Dordoni
Managing Director David Webb says, ‘Ale has an incredible body of work, showing innate rhythm, pacing and narrative flair. We’re excited for him to join the roster to help him continue to develop his career and hone his craft.’
‘Ale’s enthusiasm and passion for editing is undeniable,’ says Executive Producer Michelle Corney. ‘His work in fashion, sports branding and documentary is a welcome addition to our roster. He’s a great fit for Final Cut, we’re super excited for him to join.’
